Think you need antibiotics? Here’s what you need to know.

Many upper respiratory infections (URI’s), sinus infections and colds are caused by a viral infection that cannot be treated by antibiotics. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends antibiotic treatment for acute complicated bronchitis, Group A Strep, and acute bacterial sinusitis. Although the common cold may last for up to 2 weeks, antibiotics will not relieve symptoms.
